Safari (Tourism) Zones In Corbett National Park

As of my last update in September 2021, Jim Corbett National Park is divided into several tourism zones, each offering a unique wildlife experience. These zones are designated for safari tourism and allow visitors to explore different parts of the park. The safari zones in Corbett National Park include:

1. Dhikala Zone: Dhikala is one of the most popular and picturesque zones in the park. It is located in the core area and offers excellent opportunities for tiger sightings. Dhikala is known for its vast grasslands and beautiful landscapes, making it a favorite among wildlife enthusiasts.
2. Bijrani Zone: The Bijrani Zone is also a part of the core area and is famous for its dense Sal forests. This zone is teeming with wildlife, including tigers, elephants, deer, and various bird species.
3. Jhirna Zone: Jhirna is the only zone that remains open to visitors throughout the year. It is known for its diverse vegetation and is a great place for birdwatching. The chances of spotting wildlife like sloth bears and leopards are relatively high in this zone.
4. Durga Devi Zone: The Durga Devi Zone is located in the northeastern part of the park. It is less crowded and offers a serene environment for visitors. This zone is known for its birdlife and the natural beauty of the Ramganga River.
5. Dhela Zone: Dhela is the newest tourism zone in the park, located in the southern part of Corbett. It is less explored compared to other zones, making it a peaceful and offbeat destination for nature lovers.
6. Corbett Landscape Zone (Sitabani): Sitabani, also known as the Corbett Landscape Zone, is located outside the core area and is characterized by a mix of forests and farmlands. Visitors can enjoy safaris in this zone and visit the Sitabani Temple, which is a popular attraction.
